“Konditor” is a noun derived from Germany, meaning confectioner or pastry cook. “Meister”, also originating in Germany means a person of great skill or authority in a particular field.
Cake tasting consultations are by appointment only. We offer appointments Monday through Saturday 9 to 4 and on Sundays from 9 to 1. Weekends tend to fill up very quickly so it is suggested a bride calls a few weeks in advance to set up an appointment. As appointments do fill up quickly, particularly in the busy season, we do ask that brides arrive on time in order to take advantage of their allotted hour.
We suggest scheduling an appointment for a cake tasting 3 to 6 months in advance. In this time frame, some brides come in for a preliminary appointment and a second follow up appointment to finalize.
Our Wedding Cakes start at a base price of $3.50 per person. We offer an array of custom designs so prices can vary greatly. Our consultations ensure that you find a cake that fits within a bride’s budget. During an appointment our consultants will be more than happy to provide quotes on the many custom designs we have to offer.
Cake tasting appointments last for 1 hour. During this time you will sit and discuss with a consultant style, flavor and pricing options. We will offer samples of our more popular flavors in addition to appropriate seasonal flavors. Please indicate to your bridal consultant any dietary restrictions that you may have. Any special requests for flavors should be made at the time of scheduling your appointment.
At the end of the appointment, an order will be drafted including the design and flavors discussed during the appointment.
Once you have made your appointment, it is suggested that you bring any color swatches, pictures or ideas that you may have in mind. We recommend a bride familiarize themselves with our website and the many options we have on display there. In addition, allocating a budget will be helpful when determining what style of wedding cake.
In order to reserve the date and delivery of a wedding cake, we ask for $100 deposit. Deposits may be left after an appointment, over the phone, or a check via mail.
Full payment for a wedding cake is due 2 weeks before the date of the wedding. At this point we also require that the cake style and flavor is finalized as well. After this 2 week time frame, your $100 deposit becomes non-refundable.
Fondant is an icing that can be rolled out to decorate wedding cakes with a smooth finish. While this is commonly used at bakeries, Konditor Meister uses rolled white chocolate. This provides the same polished aesthetic while providing a richer flavor and texture.
Changes may be made to wedding cake orders up to 2 weeks before the wedding date. After two weeks we will not take any further changes to an order. We do ask that all changes to wedding cakes are made in writing or in person.
We do not use dummy cakes in any layers of our wedding cakes. All layers are made of real cake. While we understand brides look to this a way of cutting cost, there are many other options that can be discussed at the cake tasting appointment in terms of staying within budget and creating the perfect wedding cake.
We are proud to offer over 14 different flavors of cake, any of these may selected for each layer of your wedding cake.
We ask that no more than 4 people attend a cake tasting appointment, including the bride and groom.
